The Story of creation is so much interesting to read over and over. Genesis chapter 1 :1-2. Says “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”

Does it ever cross your mind or ever imagine that God in His supremacy created the earth and yet the earth had challenges? When I thought of this, I asked myself, does it mean God couldn’t have made a perfect earth from the word go! I know He sure could have. But I believe God wants us to understand that things may not be that smooth at the beginning. Let’s look at the word of God to discover what He did so we may also apply it.

The Bible records that earth faced three challenges which were – the earth was without form, void and there was darkness. Yes, It’s worthy of note that the beginning of anything could be very discouraging, be it the beginning of a union or the beginning of a project, the beginning of business venture or the start up of a ministry or calling or what you have passion for. Even relocation to another country is as well as starting afresh in most cases and the experience people face differ from person to person.

In the beginning, there could be untold pain, discouragement, loneliness, the beginning could be full of doubt, rough and if care is not taken most times you just want to quit or back out. But there are some more important things we need to know in this passage.

The Bible says “And darkness was upon the face of the deep and the spirit of the lord moved upon the face of the water. This tells me that the presence of challenges or difficulty does not mean that the Spirit of God has abandon me. It Does not mean that God is far away from me or I’m left alone all by myself. The presence of God is all we need in the seemingly dark situation. It’s the presence of His majesty that conquers darkness.

Don’t judge the success of a thing by the challenges it faced at the beginning. There is a saying that people only see the glory but they don’t hear the story. There is always a story behind the glory. Always remember this. No matter how rough the beginning is you can not judge what that business will turn out to be. The Bible says in Zechariah 4: 10 Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.

The third point is taken from verse 3 of Genesis 1 and it reads and God said: God never gives up. and this is very important to note in this verse. God did not stop speaking, working until He accomplishes what He desires on the earth. God kept working he did not give up on the earth. May I ask why do you want to give up on yourself.

Yes, he created the earth, it was without form void, these are undeniable fact but He didn’t give up on His creation, he didn’t quit. Rather, He kept speaking to the void and has He speaks, things begin to take shape in the earth.

Be full of hope in that situation you’re going through right now.
