The Source of Help

All over the world, fear and uncertainty filled the air, from the least to the great. From one country to another. As we search for answers at this critical time. “Coronavirus plague.”  God remains our only Source of Help.

Help from above

If God does not help we are helpless.

The Bible says in 2 Kings 6:26-27 – As the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried to him, “Help me, my lord the king!” 27The king replied, “If the LORD does not help you, where can I get help for you? From the threshing floor? From the wine press?”

This is a pathetic story of what could happen
when there’s famine, plague, recession in the land. She turned to the king for help. Which we all sometimes do when we are hit with difficulties, we turn to our bosses, friends, colleagues, government because we feel they are in the best position to bail us out. Unfortunately, the response of the king though hopeless but genuine. He said “If the LORD does not help you, where can I get help for you?

We have a God who is above all kings, the king of all kings. Though the kings of the earth is limited, our God is unlimited in scope, in power and in everything. Without God’s help no man has the ability to help you. No family member, colleague or government. Anyone may promise to help you, but without God’s help, No man has the audacity to do so. No earthly Authority can figure out a way out of any crisis. Without the ultimate authority- GOD. Without God’s help, No man has the grace to help you.

Red sea

If God does not save we will all be dead men.

The Bible says in Psalm 68:1. Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.

How can we possibly fight an unknown enemy? Let God arise!

The story of the people of Israel and the Egyptians in Exodus 14: 1-31

The Egyptians troops marched after Israel. And Israelites were terrified and cried out to the Lord. In front of them was the Red Sea and behind them was pharaohs troops- their enemies. The Bible says they cried out unto the lord and He arose and fought for them.

The Red Sea was divided, and Israelites went through the sea on dry ground but Egyptians-the stubborn enemies pursued after them, The waters  flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen and the Lord swept them into the sea.  The entire army of Pharaoh that had followed the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.

God has the ultimate power to safe and deliver from enemies that can be see (physical enemies) and the enemies that can not be seen (spiritual enemies).

It is God’s mercy that triggers man’s mercy.

There is an interesting story in the Bible but for better understanding you may read from Jeremiah 42:1-12 but my emphasis is on verses 11-12 Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom you are afraid; do not be afraid of him,“ says the Lord, ‘for I am with you, to save you and deliver you from his hand. 12And I will show you mercy, that he may have mercy on you and cause you to return to your own land.“

It was of no importance who The king of Babylon was and his thought in allowing the children of Israel to pass through his land, the choice was not his to make. This establish the truth that Man is compelled to help you when the order is from God. I repeat “Man is compelled to help you when the order is from God.

The Bible says in psalm 104:27-28 These all wait for You, That You may give them their food in due season. 28What You give them they gather in; You open Your hand, they are filled with good.

No one can give you anything except the lord permits.

I have had this knowledge overtime and I can’t be more specific. No one can give you a drop of water except God lay it upon their heart to so. Next time you receive that promotion, new appointment or gifts, you pay your bills, buy groceries or go shopping, remember it is from God … If God does not feed we go hungry.

When you recognize the source of all things and you can connect all that you have to God Who is the giver that forms your foundation for worship. I mean everything you own is from him and when you acknowledge that worship flows ceaselessly.

Also, in Psalm 24:1 the Bible says The world and all that is in it belong to the LORD; the earth and all who live on it are his. If God does not clothe, we go naked. If God does not give you a Voice, you have nothing to say. The earth is the lords.

First thing First

Therefore, wisdom says before going for that appointment, make an appointment with God first. Before you seek for human help, seek God’s help first. Before you Knock on that door, knock on heavens’ door. There’s no Need that is too small or too big to ask from God, if He’s your father.

In psalm 84:11 the Bible says For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord bestows grace and favor and honor; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

If you are yet to receive God as your father through the salvation He made available in His Son Jesus Christ. This is a perfect time to ask Him to come into you heart to destroy sin and lead you in all you do.

In conclusion,

When you turn to God first before turning to Man, He will not open every door you knock, he will Only open the doors that are meant for your good. He won’t give you all that you ask for but that which will do you good.

By Mercy a Nation is delivered. Through the help of the most High Famine is conquered and Plaque is defeated

God remains the source of help

Stay positive.

  1. Amen and Amen. I do agree with you. If we only keep our eyes on Him and not on circumstances. I have been focusing more of my time into Bible reading and getting to know God not on a church level (which I am under normal circumstance there) but more on a personal level. I feel if we draw close so will He, and then we will feel safer and have peace of mind. You see the whole battle though we may feel it physical is really in our mind. If we could keep our mind on God the battle would be won. as humans that is hard but with God’s help, it can be done. Thanks for reminding us that God is with us always.

    • Thank you for taking time to leave your thoughts. Grace to keep our eyes on Him and Knowing him personally beyond church attendance.
